Kansanga is partly a middle class residential area in Kampala. It is located after Kabalagala along Ggaba road. It is bordered by Kabalagala and Kisugu to the north, Muyenga to the northeast, Kiwafu to the east, Bbunga to the southeast, Konge to the south, Lukuli to the southwest, and Kibuye to the west and Nsambya to the northwest.
It has a number of supermarkets, bars, restaurants such as Le petit Bristol French restaurant, internet cafes and nightclubs.
A number of local and regional banks are also based here. Some of the landmarks in Kansanga include The main campus of Kampala International University- a private university and the main campus of the International university of East Africa are all found in the area.
Over time Kansanga has earned a reputation for being a popular hot spot for merry making be it among the mammoth University student crowd or the local guy crafting an edible rolex (a delicious street snack). The rugged guy with saggy pants passes by with a file of papers as the skimpily dressed lass follows him in her Ush 200,000 shoes with meticulously calculated steps as they both head to their hostels after class. My friend is Kansanga.
